We were fortunate to create a leadership experience for a group of high-potential leaders on an accelerated path to reimagining their business and culture. How might Immersion unlock insights on changing market and customer requirements?

The Client – A Global Nutrition Company on A Mission to Help People Lead Healthy, Active Lives

With leading market positions in sports nutrition, dairy, and vitamin and mineral premixes, our client operates in over 32 countries to deliver better nutrition that helps people live their best. Driven by their curiosity, they use science-led innovation to create healthier, smarter products that meet the ever-evolving needs of their consumers and partners.

The Challenge

Our client was approaching this Immersion with a mindset of curious exploration. In looking to examine new ways of working and new business models, The Immersion Lab was tasked with creating an Immersion experience that was built upon a nuanced platform of innovation coupled with rapid, sustainable growth. To deliver on such remit, we traveled to the innovation powerhouse: Silicon Valley.

What We Did

We designed a day of in-person immersion sessions built around three themes, to get at the heart of what innovation looks like at its best, and how it’s magic can be transmuted to sustainable growth.
The participants were split into two teams and the day was divided into a morning meeting, and a working lunch. Organizations and exemplars were chosen because they had been recognized for their focus on innovation and agility, as well as their capacity to transform themselves and their value proposition to meet changing conditions.

The Immersion Learning Experience

Meeting 1:Vanguards of Transformation’ – These meetings were centered around large scale transformation. We designed these meetings to uncover insights on how larger companies push past inertia, and engender meaningful change throughout the enterprise.

Meeting 2:Scaling at Speed Through Innovation’ – These meetings were centered around building business on a new and disruptive platform. These experiences sought to tackle the lessons and learnings on scaling business where innovation is an absolute requirement.

Meeting 3:Disrupting the Food and Nutrition Paradigm’– These meetings were centered around understanding how innovators are changing the way consumers are approaching food. This experience, nuanced to the client’s background, delivered a point of intersection where they could appreciate the disruption from their perspective, while road mapping potential future successes.

The Impact

This Immersion program provided a wealth of experience and insight to the participants. Getting ‘outside of the office’ and interacting with successful organizations in a collaborative environment set the stage for a learning mindset that would carry them through the program. During the reflection session, participants agreed that a shared theme of courageous leadership was common across all experiences; to truly support the organization’s goals and to lean into new transformation, bold and courageous leadership is a necessity to bring forth a successful and inclusive enterprise. The behaviors and practices of these ideas were keenly felt by all, and embossed as a commitment as they moved forward.
